Calling Your Joy

Yesterday I wrote about focusing on joy vs happiness. Other than putting something on a post-it note to remind us of things that bring us joy, how do we go about finding it?

This blog post last week from Seth Godin really helped to simplify this. You can read the whole post here

I'm not sure that anyone has a calling. I think, instead, our culture creates situations where passionate people find a place where they can make an impact. When what you do is something that you make important, it doesn't matter so much what you do.

It's not that important where. It matters a lot how. With passion and care.

This idea of calling your finding vs finding your calling takes a lot of pressure off of finding the exact right path you're "meant" to be on. Find a place professionally and/or personally where you can make an impact and leap into it with passion and care everyday. We can make our own work important, we don't need others to validate it for us. This brings the joy that make efforts, even "hard" ones, easy and enJOYable.
