After a very full and wonderful Neighbour Day I had intended to re-post Meg Wheatley's poem Turning to One Another. As I was googling I came across another reference from a Keynote Address she gave in 2000.
In closing, Dr. Wheatley offered a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke, written over a century ago:
You must give birth
to your images.
Fear not the
strangeness you feel.
The future must enter
you…
Long before it
happens.
"Every time your heart leaps out and you want to serve better," Dr. Wheatley concluded, "that's the future, speaking through you."
A little something for everyone who has followed that leaping heart and time traveled by entering into that future before everyone else has arrived.
