In Seth Godin's book What To Do When It's Your Turn (props to Seth as this blog is taking my turn!), he outlines a neat role we can play: the mood fixer.
We've all experienced a simple gesture, act, experience, song, phone call etc. that in an instant turned our frown upside down. If it's so easy to do, why would we ever choose to have a lousy day? And better yet, why would you let someone else?
Sometimes people need you to fix their mood, even when you don't feel like it. It's something you can learn to do and build your mood-fixer muscle up over time.
Do what you should do. Your mood will follow. (Seth quote!)
