Art helps us see ourselves. Understand who we are as individuals and a society. Salvador Dali studied a great many things, including nuclear physics and psychology. These were his inspirations for his artistic work. All of these sciences are trying to make sense of the world around us. His visual art helped to diffuse the essence of these complex concepts. Impossible to understand as an equation, but from a painting more people can start to make sense. The knowledge can be translated.

Artists are our greatest archivists, teachers and philosophers. We can all strive to create and be an artist in whatever profession we have chosen, in whatever medium we choose. It's something to encourage in ourselves and those around us, especially the next generation. It's something to nurture, value, practice and celebrate often.
