I try to anchor myself in Meg Wheatley's Turning to One Another as much as possible. I'm always the most inspired when I see others bringing it to life. My dear friend and colleague Alanna has embodied the line "be brave enough to start a conversation that matters" in her latest blog about post-partum depression (PPD). It touches your heart and opens up your mind to what many women may be secretly struggling with after they have a baby. I'm not a Mom yet and I can only imagine how difficult this must be when our media and society keep creating this notion of an instant love affair with your newborn. I'm grateful for the conversations that are being had around this so that if I have PPD it will be an easier conversation to have myself.
Her post also drives home the importance of making time to unconditionally care for one another. Enjoy the read and think about how you can be brave in really caring for others whether they are strangers or your close friends and family.
