Today I sat in a line for 3.5 hours for tickets to the new Harry Potter play. The folks in front of us got the last two tickets for both parts. We were offered tickets to part one only. We were the only people in the line who didn't take them.
I'm OK with the uncertainty and needing to wait for the pay off. I'd rather wait a day and line up again tomorrow to get to see both parts of this play. I have faith it's going to work out. I'm sure my stubborn personality helps me persevere as well and the fact we plan on lining up 6 hours early tomorrow.
I know the folks in line had many reasons why they needed to take the tickets today. It just reminded me, in a small way, of the fun of delaying gratification for the big win instead of taking the easy one.
