As promised, I'm sharing my answers to the three questions that are part of the altMBA application. It's pretty scary for me to share my writing especially when it concerns needing to demonstrate why I deserve to be admitted to and what I would get from a program like this. In the spirit of being courageous and owning my own voice, I'm taking a leap and sharing my first draft of the answers.
Feel free to share feedback as I'm testing these.
Which goals are you hoping the altMBA will help you achieve?
I want to make the world a better place. I believe that being in service of others is our purpose . I have a gift for caring, relationships and connecting the dots of opportunity and resources leading to new solutions. I've become a highly effective individual. I've come to realize though that individually you can only go so far. That in order to be in greater service of my own life's purpose, I need to improve my leadership skills. That if you want to go far, you must go together. This is even more true in the world of social innovation and change. This is what I am hoping the altMBA program will help me achieve. The ability to bring others along in a vision for making something better. To get others excited about disrupting the status quo and to meaningfully and joyfully find a new and better way of doing things.
