I heard an interview last week on CBC in which an author quoted this statement from the Dalai Lama about the importance of our hearts and compassion. I find that I get myself in the most trouble with decisions I make when I let them be too driven by my head. When I ignore my heart because somewhere along the way I learned that it wasn't important in decision making. That it was weaker and to be ruled by my heart and compassion instead of my mind and logic would make me less capable.
I'm truest to myself when I lead with my heart and compassion. The piece I'm still working on is how to find the right words or actions to help pour that compassion into others in the hope that it will spread. I hear a lot of people talking about the importance of the heart and caring recently. I'm very hopeful it will lead to a bigger wave as we all pour more and more compassion into the world.
