In Harry Potter there is a an object called the Sword of Gryffindor. It has a long magical history, but it's most important feature is that it takes in that which will make it stronger.
For some reason I started thinking about this today. I've been trying to figure out how to deal with a recent disappointment. And I've concluded that while going through this will make me stronger, I won't be holding onto the disappointment. There are some disappointments in my life that I have definitely taken in and re-visited more than was healthy or helpful. With this one I'm really going to try to hold it lightly, take what learning there is to glean and then release it. Focus on being a bit more like the Sword of Gryffindor and only take in those things that will strengthen and fortify.
