Twice over the last week someone has referred to the philosophy of Japanese artists who value imperfection in their work. Whether Wabi-Sabi (art of finding beauty in imperfection and profundity in earthiness, of revering authenticity above all) or Kintsugi (repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold), the Japanese value the genuine.
Great reminder for ourselves and as we're interacting with others. Time to celebrate our vulnerability or anything else we may be trying to hide. Time to cover it in gold-dust and let our humanness stand out.
