Letting Go

There's an old saying that if you love someone let it go. It usually refers to people and not holding onto them tightly as that can actually restrict the oxygen for your relationship. 

I think the same thing is true for ideas. In the past I've held onto my ideas pretty tightly and not really been very open to let them go or to let others into them. I've started to let some things go over the last couple of months, to give some more space for others to have input into them. It's been uncomfortable and I've actually had to consciously remind myself all of the time to not be a bossy pants and push my way back in. It's also been exhilarating. Others have been able to help the seeds grow in ways I'm not capable of. In a few rare cases things are having some trouble taking root, but that's also taught me that the soil may need some more tending or fertilization. It may not be ready for that idea yet.
