Giving Ourselves Time

I've been reading a book on feedback. The contents of it are great in terms of how it addresses how we can all be better at receiving feedback. What I've been thinking about initially though is that in order to do this properly you need time. Time to think about how to prepare for a feedback conversation, no matter which side of this you are on. Time to actually have the conversations around feedback and to follow-up on them over time.

Spending times on things like this will not be a checkmark at the end of the day. It will take weeks or months for this kind of time to yield results. It doesn't make it any less important. How do we give ourselves and others the time for this kind of thinking? It isn't likely to happen by accident. How often do we schedule/prioritize time for reflection and time to think? Can we be brave enough to only say yes to a few things in order to give ourselves the space for this kind of learning, growth and progress.
