"The essence of strategy is choosing what not to do." Michael Porter
Tomorrow I launch into the altMBA. In doing this I'm saying yes to creating everyday. To connecting with ideas and others who will challenge me to grow. To failing forward in bigger ways.
To give myself my best chance, I'm going to try to be strategic. That word gets thrown around a lot, but I love the above simple definition that Michael Porter uses. The hard part about strategy is not choosing what to do, but negotiating the trade offs that are within that decision. Knowing that when you say yes to one thing you are, or you should be, saying no to others.
I'm taking this advice in and will be taking a brief hiatus from daily blogging during the altMBA (and for a brief rest and recharge after). The work I'm doing during the program is public, so please feel free to look in if you're wondering what I'm up to with this adventure. Otherwise I'll see you February 21.
With hope and light,
Nicole
