In a room full of people sitting how likely would you be to stand up? How likely are we ever to stand out in a crowd?
That's a big part of how we're going to get ahead in the future. How we'll convince someone to buy our product or service, donate to a cause or answer any call to action. In a world that is full of choice, the ones that stand out are the choices that get ahead.
It's scary standing out.
Today I stood out by sharing some of my recent learning and growth experiences. Some stories were about how I've shifted for the better and others were about how I'm still struggling to overcome my lizard brain. It wasn't entirely comfortable to share all of this. There's a voice in my head constantly asking "do you really think anyone else will care about this?".
As doubting as that voice is, it's also a pretty good indication that I'm headed in the right direction. It means I'm outside of my comfort zone in the unknown, on the edge and that's where all the fun stuff happens.
