Whirring

I've been in a hurry my whole life. My body and brain have trouble slowing down. I wake up and it's as if someone has switched the on button and my mind is whirring away again.

In keeping with my less is more, I'm trying to shift this a bit. Is my brain so full that I'm missing out on things that are happening around me? How do I get in the habit of hitting the breaks? 

I'm not 100% sure yet. I'm hoping that setting the intention and being aware will be the first step. We'll see what the next is.
