Decade of Endurance

My 20's were all about what my one-rep max would be. How much could I lift at one time? I tested how much I could have on my plate at once and still at least somewhat function. At times this definitely sacrificed my own personal health and my relationships with my friends and family.  I still fall into that one-rep-max trap at times. I'm trying to get my body to forget it even has that ability.

The exploration of this decade is how to to actually lift for a whole set. How do you pick a weight that is light enough to allow you to endure with it for awhile? How much can I put on my plate while still advancing the causes I love, maintaining my own physical and mental health and thriving in my personal relationships?

I'm now 2.5 years in. What have I learned? No and Not yet.

I'm blessed to have so many wonderful opportunities come my way.  Learning to say no and not yet have helped me to take weight off of that plate I'm carrying. Not yet has surprisingly been harder than no.  Delaying something and sequencing it rather than jumping into it all at once has proven to be the hardest to learn and also the strategy I find has the most impact.

Full disclosure: I know very little about weight lifting except what I hear from my husband. Apologies if any of these analogies are totally off.
