Why do we tear ourselves and each other down? Why do we have this critical reflex? Even if something isn't exactly right or someone else's opinion doesn't match your own, why can't we celebrate that person for stepping into the ring? For showing up and trying to make a difference even if how they did it is different from our own worldview?
I'm not sure who wrote this quote, but I think we need a lot more of it. That includes the way we talk to ourselves as well. Maybe if we can stop the critical self-talk we can be more generous with our outward praise as well.
