One of the things I've gotten better at in the last year is being present when I'm with people. I've done this by thinking less and letting myself respond to a situation more.
I'm delighted about the things that occur to me each time I focus my attention on observing and listening to what is happening around me rather than what's going on in my head.
Doing more of this means I over think the future less as well. When I've already thought too much about something I can try to steer it in a certain direction rather than feeling out where the energy is trying to head and going along with it. It complicates a situation. Being present is one of the easiest (and yet hardest) ways of simplifying I've found.
