I've been working in the non-profit sector for almost a decade. I've thought and even experimented with other sectors (corporate and public), but my path keeps leading me back to this community and voluntary driven world.
We all talk about how fast the world is changing all of the time. For the most part, the sector functions much the same as I when I entered it and struggles with many of the same challenges.
There isn't another sector of our economy and society that is more ripe for change than the non-profit. Exactly what this recalibration looks like remains to be seen. What I do know is that I have faith that this next evolution of this amazing group of organizations and people that make them will shift us substantially closer to the change in the world we've been working toward.
With so many great questions and unclear answers, it's a very invigorating and mysterious time to be working in this world. Those that are in tune with their environment and are courageous enough to dare greatly into less charted territories will be the change-making titans of the future.
