The Future is Local

After an intense period where we tried everything to scale up to be larger and larger to create economies of scale, I think it's likely we've reached the start of a different time. A time that will be defined on a smaller, yet highly connected, scale. When local knowledge, word of mouth, the sharing economy and all of the things that go with these ideas will be what shapes and powers our economy.

Where we invest in the enterprises of our own communities because people don't create harm when they are accountable to the people that live beside them. Those same people also invest back in their neighbours and lower the inequality that exists. We'll take the best of our technological advancements and mash them up with a very old idea of living in a village together.
