Emily Esfahani Smith's work is about shifting away from a path where we pursue happiness to one in which we seek meaning. I ended up clicking on a link to take a quiz on what pillar of meaning resonated with me the most: belonging, purpose, storytelling or transcendence.
Drum roll…. mine was belonging. The blurb for this is: we all need to find our tribe and forge relationships in which we feel understood, recognized and valued – to know we matter to others. Sounds pretty accurate for someone who is constantly trying to recreate her family tribe of her childhood in her life as an adult.
