Sparkly Compass

A few weeks ago I did the first part of Elizabeth Gilbert's Creativity Workshop on Udemy. Her advice on how to live a creative life was all about being curious. Starting with something that makes you feel a bit sparkly (even just a little) and continuing to explore.

There's so many things we feel like we should do or have to do to live a creative, meaningful, happy (insert buzzword) life. The hard thing about this is how we live a full life is going to be different for anyone one of us. This notion of finding something that gives you even a little spark and following it, seems to be about as universal a step as any I've found.

Today I went for a swim in an outdoor pool. I always feel like a mermaid when I swim and I feel especially free and sparkly when I'm outside. It was just what I needed after a heavy week or so at the end of a period of time when I'm not sure if I'm always using that spark as a compass.
