An artist once told me that the more personal a piece of art is the more likely it is to connect broadly with people. It's funny that making something specific to our own expression makes it a more spreadable idea/connection.
I think it's because people want to see genuineness and authenticity. Though they find it scary to show up this way themselves, they are drawn to when others do this. At the core of our being is the longing to be wholly ourselves and for others to connect with this truest version of us.
