Scrolling through my Medium Daily Digest I came across a post: 5 Powerful Ways Blogging Can Make You a Genius. How could I not click through!
The essence of this article is summed up in the below quote from Einstein. I think that's part of why many bloggers have imposter syndrome. We feel the same as everyone else and that anyone else could be making the same point or doing the same job at any given time.
We all start the same. What makes us exceptional is that we show up in a curious posture every single day. It's that continued emotional labour of asking questions, exploring and assimilating that knowledge that makes us different. A path we know anyone could decide to embark upon, which is why we don't usually feel special.
At best about 1% of people who we would consider to be a genius were born with the talent that put them in this category. For almost everyone it was a journey of showing up everyday and doing the work. Eventually that daily practice culminated in a moment that we point to as genius. Maybe it's time to define the word.
