I was a child whose village supported me fully. Despite seeing all of this love and support from so many places, it's taken me most of my adult life to accept that it takes a village to do just about anything.
It takes a village for a marriage to thrive. I know that I can never be all things to my husband and it's times when I try to be that we get out of sync.
It takes a village to launch something like Kind YYC. Nicole of five years ago probably would have tried to take way too much of this on herself.
This has been my year of learning to not just accept, but actively welcome my village in. Making space for others in all of my circles in life and seeing the magic that happens when I share responsibility freely and open up to receive.
