As part of my intentions for 2018, I promised myself that I would stand up and stand out. This included sharing my blog, thoughts and other passion projects (like Kind YYC) more broadly. I was waiting for others to stumble upon what I was doing. I now realize I have to advocate for my own thoughts and projects if I want them to thrive. I'm super excited to share the first instance of this.
Ozan Varol is a rocket scientist turned author and law professor. At his heart though, he is a contrarian - A person who takes up a contrary position, especially a position opposed to the majority view, regardless of how unpopular it may be. His contrarian spotlight is featuring ordinary people doing extraordinary things that often go against the grain of our society. I submitted myself/Kind YYC to be featured and it was chosen.
