Living for the Journey

Accomplishing important things takes time and a lot of effort. Whether it is raising children, writing a book, running a marathon or launching a new business/project – it doesn't come quick.

Though the prize may be at the tip of the iceberg, everything you had to do to get there is buried below. At the same time that you're striving for the tip of the iceberg, you also need to love the journey of building the mass below the surface.

The people who go far are those who love putting in the emotional labour to add each tiny bit and who also don't require a fanfare when another layer gets added. They love the work and they do it because it's the right thing to do and can't imagine their head, hands or heart doing anything else.

It's still pretty sweet though when you manage to get above that surface before you dive back under to continue the work.
