Tonight I watched the movie About Time. It's from the creator of Love Actually and the only thing keeping love actually ahead of this is because it's a holiday movie and I just love Christmas.
I don't want to spoil anything (because if you haven't seen it you should probably stop whatever you are doing and turn it on), but I had to write about a line in the movie that was so beautiful.
"I just try to live every day as if it was the full final day of my extraordinary, ordinary life."
The part I love is extraordinary, ordinary. There is so much more beauty present in our lives than dark things. Even as I was watching the movie, I kept looking down at my cat purring on my stomach and my husband next to me and thinking how extraordinary this ordinary moment in my life was.
If we slow down a little to marvel at those moments, we'll likely find ourselves overflowing with beautiful, ordinary moments that put smiles on our faces and fill our hearts with joy. And at the end of the day, what else is there.
