One of the only things my Mom would never allow me to say as a child was "I can't do that." This turned into a belief that I could figure out how to do just about anything.
From fixing a toilet to programming and querying in a database, my mindset is if I try and I'm curious I can troubleshoot pretty much any situation I find myself in.
That belief in being able to solve your own problems has served me well and is usually one of the things that I look for in others. Those kind of people are the folks who just figure out how to move something forward even when it may not have been easy or clear how to do it. And most things are usually like that.
