Yesterday a dear friend and mentor of mine had a birthday. I've known her since I moved to Calgary nearly 6 years ago and she's been a huge inspiration and support in what she would call me becoming an artist of my own life.
I had a look back through my blog and I could isolate at least 5 posts that were direct inspiration from her (I am sure there are many more). She's always reminding me to celebrate, taught me how to receive openly, introduced me to the idea of joyful efforts and inspired me with her own life's story which helped me frame up mine.
Most of all though she has taught me that you can thrive as a leader in your own life and with others by leading with your heart. That you needn't lead your life amidst the loud voices of others. To truly thrive, we need to cultivate our own specific voice and grow it strong.
I know I am just one of many individuals that she has touched and is better for it. Whether through her wise advice or just by leaning in to unapologetically shining her light bright. Happies sweet Cynthia and thank you for sharing so much of yourself. You're leaving a legacy of love, kindness and laughter that is sure to make many more ripples in our world. Thank you for being you.
