As humans we have great capacity to evolve if we choose. Some traits, values or skills can be more or less difficult to shift, but with effort and a lack of physical limitation (I'm never likely to dunk a basketball!) it is possible.
We may have learned views as we were growing up that now no longer ring true, but it takes us awhile to understand the depth that they have shaped our thoughts and behaviours.
Whatever it is calling it out as something you're not OK with is the first step. You need to name it in order to tame it. In that step itself you're creating a new narrative for yourself moving forward.
