“You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving.” — John Wooden
Benjamin Hardy wrote a great post this week called How to Create Rare and Life-changing Relationships with Anyone (even your heroes). It's all about the transactional and transformational interactions we have with others, including how we should be focusing on the latter. He explains why we should be prioritizing transformational over transactional for our own happiness and success.
I like the simple way he summarized Adam Grant's work as a quick filter for which kind of relationship you are having. Adam Grant believes we can be categorized into givers and takers. Some people give credit freely and others are constantly looking for ways to gain more credit of their own. Transformational relationships are full of givers.
