Seeing both sides can bring regret, as comes through in this song. It can mean taking off of our rose-coloured glasses and seeing the full picture of what's happening around us.
I like the pragmatism in the lines:
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
It reminds us of the fickle nature of how we view the context of a situation. What seems like a win now may seem like a loss from a different point in our lives. Reminds us that the world is not often made up of black and white, but rather a series of grey components that come together to form a deeper picture.
