I listened to an interview this morning from a woman whose farm is covered in water and whose home is close to the same fate. I marveled at how calm she seemed. She noted that she'd surrendered herself to the situation and was going to just keep responding to whatever came her way. They were building contingency plans and remained hopeful they would still have a growing season.
How amazing to be this resilient in the face of your livelihood being uncertain. It reminded me how much of a choice most of us have in how we respond to even the worst life has to throw at us.
