Unconditional Love

In Harry Potter, Harry is able to defeat Voldemort because of the love and sacrifice of his family.  Dumbledore acknowledges this kind of love as the oldest and strongest kind of magic there is, though many often underestimate it. 

The greatest gift my family gave me was unconditional love. It taught me how to love myself and others in this way. 

I didn't realize until I was older what a cherished gift this was. I learned that not everyone has had love poured into them like this or had constant role-modeling of how to do this with others. However, for most of us, we can make the choice to show up in this way for ourselves and everyone in our lives. It's simple and consistent acts of love and kindness that create this power. 

Like Harry, this love is my superpower. It's my source of courage, strength and joy. It's always there whenever I need to draw upon it, especially when it needs to be shared with others.
