Yesterday I wrote about unconditional love and how lucky I was to have received so much of it from my family and why I try to pay that forward everyday. On the heels of writing this came the news that Anthony Bourdain had committed suicide, which was on top of the same news about Kate Spade.
The face that mental illness wears is often a smiling mask out onto the world. It's a good reminder to not just be conscious of being kind to all humans, but to check in with those closest to us and to make space to take off those masks we feel we need to put on in public.
