Unapologetically You

I have been thinking about this for a while – months – and here's what I have come to: in all ways, be you, unapologetically. You are the reason you are here, wherever here is.  Alanna Maria

Are you lucky enough to have kindred spirits in your life that fill you up? I truly hope you are and that you let them know your gratitude often. I'm fortunate enough to have a few and some are walking a pretty tight path to my own – one of those being my dear Alanna Maria. 

I'm pretty slow on social media now, so I hadn't seen that Alanna had posted this piece on her blog today. I just happened to be feeling stuck for writing and thought I'd head over to her blog to find something to riff off of for my own post today. 

Her post is an honest and powerful reminder to always show up as ourselves. To never dim or hide that light in any situation. By doing so we do a disservice unto ourselves and others by shrinking away from our unique gifts that we have to gift. 

Most importantly, when we show up this way we give the confidence to others to do the same. Over time this can snowball into a world of authentic and strong voices who don't worry about us and them. We empower others by truly seeing them and by letting ourselves be seen.
