My blog has been about growth and accountability. It helped me develop my writing, my voice and my shipping muscle.
Now I’m going to use it to rebuild my learning muscle. (See today’s other post for the motivation behind this.)
For the next 30 days I’m going to post about what I’ve learned that day. The topics will be broad and it will be sound bites vs lengthy posts. I’m trying to keep it simple.
So here’s the daily dose of learning/inspiration/revelation for today.
1. Giving your baby Tylenol doesn’t make you a bad Mom. It’s not some kind of easy way out. There’s no badge for persevering through without it.
2. When brainstorming, don’t have people present their own ideas. Often the best idea generators are not the best presenters. Mix it up and ensure you haven’t baked bias in your process. Thanks to Adam Grant’s WorkLife podcast episode Fadbusting for this.
3. Be conscious of your strengths and whether you are employing them to their upside or to your detriment. The old adage “too much of a good thing…” Again, credit to Adam Grant’s WorkLife episode When Strengths Become Weaknesses.
