How many of us can say we have a crystal clear purpose and vision in life or at our company? Not something vague, but a specific way we or our organization can contribute.
That’s what her book is all about. Simple and clear (with examples) of the building blocks to make it happen.
I’m about halfway through now and this excerpt, on strategy, is the one that’s sticking out.

It feels like so much of our energy in our personal and professional lives is about succeeding in the present. How many of us can say we’re really working a specific plan to realize our vision at work or in our own lives?
I know I’m not. I’m definitely working on those near term goals. I’m happy enough plodding away, but am I really on a specific path towards a vision? And what is that end point I’m tying to reach?
The book has highlighted how easy it is to get caught on the short term hampster wheel and wasting a lot of energy on succeeding now at the expense of long term success.
I’m hoping to build off of my best reflected self exercise to work on getting more specific. And keeping this with me when I head back to work in November to ensure my efforts are contributing to something that’s going somewhere.
