Time is a Choice

It always seems like we never have enough time. How often do we say the word busy in the run of a week?

Laura Vanderkam shared her research and perspective on time and how to manage it at TedWomen Talk.

I really enjoyed her perspective. She describes how if a pipe burst in our house we' make the extra time in a week to get everything fixed. We would force time to stretch. Yet when it comes to important priorities that aren't in crisis, we have trouble getting to things.

Why is this? Are we addicted to the positive reaction we get when we check something off our list? Do we always think we can start the important, but not urgent thing tomorrow? Are we afraid that admitting our high and low priorities and standing by them will lead to judgement?

I'm not sure what it is. I do believe that time is our most valuable resource. It never seems like most people have enough of it.
