The key to much successful change is giving credit away easily and often. How much does someone say I did this vs you did this. If your heart is in it for the right reasons you only care that a differnce is being made, not whose name is featured in the headline.
The funny thing about all of that is putting in the emotional labour and doing the unselfish work often gets you attention and credit that you weren't even really looking for.
