I come back to the idea of resistance from War of Art often. Resistance is the forces aligning to try and maintain the status quo.
The closer we get to overcoming the resistance the harder it tries to win. The harder that other people's resistance will join in the fight to stop the change.
That's why it's important to know who you really need to listen to. It won't be everyone or even the majority. We know who the small group of trusted friends, family members and colleagues are who are our check and balance. In times of trying to move forward with something new it is their voices we need to amplify.
The naysayers are helpful too. Their resistance jumping in to help our own is affirmation we're moving in the right direction.
